The new Fujifilm X-Trans CMOS III APS-C sensor used in the Fujifilm FinePix X100F digital camera has a random pixel arrangement to effectively prevent moiré and falsely rendered colour shades. The elimination of the optical low-pass filter prevents the deterioration of image resolution. The X-Processor Pro high-speed image processing engine creates images comparable to those from a larger multi-pixel sensor. The number of focus points has been increased from 49 to 91, and the weakness of Phase Detection AF has also been addressed for better autofocus. The mid-range AF field with phase detection is now 2.3 times larger, with better ability to focus on points of light and low-contrast and fine-textured subjects such as bird feathers or animal hair. The FinePix X100F offers a choice of six AF modes by scene type. AF-S for Still Objects and AF-C for moving objects let you choose either "Single Point" or "Zone" mode for the type of focus area, or the "Wide/Tracking" mode, in which the camera selects multiple areas for focusing.

Advanced hybrid viewfinder

The Fujifilm FinePix X100F Hybrid Viewfinder combines the Optical Viewfinder (OVF) and Electronic Viewfinder (EVF) feature. You can switch between OVF and EVF, but OVF also brings you the benefits of EVF. In Electronic Rangefinder (ERF) mode, the EVF is displayed as a small window at the lower right corner of the viewfinder. This makes it easier to focus accurately using Focus Peaking and Digital Split Image even in OVF. The EVF window (in the ERF) can display a 100% field of view or an image with a magnification of 2.5× or 6×. You can also control exposure and white balance in the EVF. It also offers automatic real-time correction of the parallax, the gap between the guide frame and actual shooting range when shooting close up.

Movie simulation feature

The Fujifilm FinePix X100F is equipped with a movie simulation feature enriched with ACROS mode. It takes full advantage of the X-Processor Pro's advanced processing capabilities that offers smooth gradation, deep blacks and beautiful textures. The Fujifilm X100F digital camera lens has a built-in ND filter, which is useful when shooting with the aperture wide open in bright light or when using a slow shutter speed.
